Concrete Grounding Systems Solutions Based on Electric Field & Potential

A grounding system plays an important role in ensuring that every appliance or building in its vicinity is not exposed to critical shocks due to lightning or fault and it is important to always design the best grounding system to enhance performance. However, grounding filler shape when installing a grounding system has not been consistent. This presentation reviews results of research where grounding systems consisting of full concrete, three-quarter concrete, half concrete and quarter concrete were modeled using FEM software. Two main analyses i.e. electric field and electric potential are discussed for these grounding system designs.
