Biography

Textured Polymeric Insulators for Application at 400 kV: Overview & Progress in Development

Dr. Slama received his Eng. Degree and Master (Magister) Degree from University of Sciences and Technologie of Oran-Algeria and his Ph.D. from Ecole centrale de Lyon-France. He was Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at USTO and University of Lyon and also Research Engineer at General Electric and SuperGrid Institute. He has worked on insulators pollution measurement and characterization in Algeria as well as on artificial pollution testing, monitoring, modelling, and ageing of polymeric insulators and has been involved in laboratory performance and natural pollution monitoring of 400 kV textured insulators in collaboration with National Grid and Allied Insulators. He sits on steering Committee of international conferences and reviews journals and is author of 110 papers and technical reports. His research interests include HV outdoor insulation & engineering and insulation coordination.
