Biography

Dr. Figueiredo Duarte holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil, and is a Professor at the Federal University of São João del-Rei (UFSJ). She conducted postdoctoral research at the Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory of EPFL, Switzerland, focusing on electromagnetic transient analysis and full-wave FDTD modelling of underground cables. Her expertise includes electromagnetic transients, transmission line modelling and simulation, full-wave modelling of cable systems, and electromagnetic time reversal (EMTR) for fault location. She also has extensive industry experience in power systems and serves as the Women in Energy representative for CIGRE-Brazil Study Committee C4.
