Biography

Sandro de Castro Assis received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and D.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Belo Horizonte, Brazil, in 2004, 2006, and 2017, respectively. He also completed executive education programs in R&D Project Management at the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC Minas) and Business Management at Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC) in 2009 and 2019, respectively. He worked as a Senior Power Systems Project Engineer for transmission lines and substations at CEMIG Distribution and has also served as a lecturer in the Graduate Program on Transmission and Distribution at IEC PUC Minas. Currently, he is the Manager of the Transmission Line, Substation and Environmental Projects teams at CEMIG Distribution. He is a member of the Cigré Brazil Study Committees: (CE-C4 – Power System Technical Performance / CE-B3 – Substations / CE-B2 – Overhead Lines.
