Design of Underground Cable System for the Norwegian Environment (in English)

Jerome Joseph Matallana is a discipline specialist in cable technology at Statnett SF, Norway’s transmission system operator. He has more than 25 years of experience in high-voltage cable systems, spanning R&D, engineering, testing, asset management, and project delivery. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Montpellier, France, where his research, conducted in collaboration with the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), focused on insulating polymers for HVDC extruded cable Applications. Before joining Statnett, he held technical and management roles at Nexans in France and Norway, covering underground HV cable engineering, HVDC cables and accessories, HV extruded cable technologies, and the dielectric properties of cable insulation. He is an active contributor to the international cable community, including several CIGRÉ B1 working groups.
